Nikon expands its action camera family with Key Mission 170
Nikon extended the action camera segment “Key Mission”. Earlier this year Nikon reveled its first action camera Nikon Key Mission 360 which covers 360 degree capture in 4K resolutions.
The new Nikon Key Mission 170 does the same with 4K resolution but with a lower resolution sensor of 8.3 mega pixels. It also contains a CMOS sensor. Also this camera has a limitation in capturing angle with 170 degree with 2.4mm – f/2.8 optics. In addition to its big brother, Key mission 170 contains a LCD display at the back and a stability function activated particularly in UltraHD mode.
Protection wise, Key mission is safe under water till 10m depth which can be increased to 40m with a separate case available. Another member added to this family is Key mission 80. This junior is way more weird than the other two. It got a vertical design with Full HD recording. Yes, no 4K with Key mission 80 and that is why this can be the most affordable in all three models. It captures at the angle of 80 degree with 25mm – f/2 optics. It also has a back camera lens just above the LCD screen.
On protection side, this little buddy is little insecure. Water proof till just 1m and dust proof just as his bog brother Key mission 170. All of these models will be available from next month as per Nikon booth.
